Basically there was no infrastructure in the 5 villages in Jinping. The villagers have now made road connecting the villages for the first time, which has contributed to a much higher living standard.
1,000 tons of cement
Roads and paths have been made in the villages and the main part of the work has been done by the villagers themselves. The Bestseller Fund has financed the cement and the scale of this work has been tremendous as more than 1,000 tons of cement has been used.
Most of the planned infrastructure developments are finished now:
• 18 kilometres of concrete village roads
• New water supply system leading water from the mountains through 37 concrete tanks and through 68 kilometres of pipes to all households.
• Water meters in every household
• Irrigation channels
• Cultural and sports recreation facilities
• Public toilets
• Rubble stone roads
• 300 cooking stoves to improve health and diminish fire wood consumption
• 800 courtyards covered with concrete to improve hygiene
